  • 2018 Best New Product: Ultradent’s Uveneer Direct Composite Template System

2018 Best New Product: Ultradent’s Uveneer Direct Composite Template System

    Uveneer box all

The American Association of Women Dentists (AAWD) is pleased to announce Ultradent’s Uveneer Direct Composite Template System as the 2018 Best New Product.

The award was presented by AAWD President Elect Dr. Brittany Bergeron to Ultradent representative Kristin Verdone, on August 6, 2018, during the 97th Annual Conference of AAWD held at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf resort & Spa, Georgia.

The Uveneer system is a unique, minimally invasive template system that creates beautiful direct composite veneers with predictable shape and symmetry—all in one visit. Each template mimics natural dentition and is designed to create high-quality, natural-looking anterior composite restorations.

The Uveneer template system uses innovative technologies that help dentists achieve a refined, anatomically correct, high-gloss restoration in a fraction of the time than if done free-hand. Results are reproducible and predictable. It can also be used for mock-ups and shade selection, as well as temporaries.

With a suggested retail price of approximately $660, the Uveneer system is also affordable. “Being able to meet the patient in the middle, when she couldn’t afford the porcelain veneers, has made a life-long relationship with this patient, leading to referrals, etc.,” says Dr. Brittany Bergeron, AAWD president elect and 2018 conference chair. “If you’re looking to simplify your technique for predicable and esthetic direct composite restorations check out the Uveneer composite veneer template kit—you won’t be disappointed!”

“As a woman dentist with a busy practice, I found that traditional freehand direct composite veneers were artistically challenging, unpredictable, and not always cost-effective. Being passionate about conservative dentistry, I knew there had to be a better way to create long-lasting, esthetic composite veneers more efficiently and easily. I spent years creating and perfecting a template system that any dentist could rely on, which resulted in the Uveneer system,” said Dr. Sigal Jacobsen, the creator of the Uveneer System. “Ultradent and I are so honored that the Uveneer system is being recognized by the AAWD and hope it can make the lives of the clinicians that use it easier!”

As Dr. Bergeron puts it, “If you haven’t tried the AAWD 2018 Best New Product yet, you’re really missing out!”

After being refused admission based on her gender, Taylor studied privately under a professor who encouraged her to turn to dentistry. Following her studies in dentistry, Taylor started her own practice in Cincinnati. Finally, in 1865, she gained professional recognition when she was elected to membership of the Iowa State Dental Society and served as a delegate at the American Dental Association convention in Chicago, Illinois. That November, she was admitted to the Ohio College of Dental Surgery, where she became the first woman to earn a doctorate in dentistry.

The Lucy Hobbs Taylor Award is the highest honor given by the AAWD and was first presented in 1983. AAWD presents this award to a member who exemplifies a true professional with accomplishment in one or more areas of dentistry, organized dentistry, academia, government, anthropology, archeology, philanthropy and consulting. With at least 10 years membership in AAWD and a career as a licensed dentist for 20 years or more, the recipient demonstrates a record of mentoring women dentists and/or service to organizations that further the cause of women in dentistry.
